It will be interesting to see how he goes with Prema, who have won only 3 F2 races in two years of F2 that Leclerc didnt win (he won 7 in 2017,) but they did not manage to win the team championship. Last year they came 4th, the three wins all coming from de Vries. Will Schumacher become the 3rd Prema winner to ever win an F2 race? Time will tell, but I keep thinking back to Mick last year in the first half of the season before something suddenly clicked on the car and it became a winner. I dont believe Mick has that much talent if I am honest. I just dont see him doing in F2 what he managed in the last half of 2018 in F3. He is no Leclerc put it that way. Maybe I am being harsh.... I am happy to be proved wrong.Random Motorsports Discussion ***MAY Contain Spoilers***

BMW re-evaluating FIA WEC involvement; not yet committed for next season…
February 2, 2019
BMW has yet to commit to the 2019-20 FIA World Endurance Championship season, with the German manufacturer weighing up a potential exit from the globe-trotting series at the end of the current ‘Super Season’.
It comes after just one year into the MTEK-run factory GTE-Pro program, which made its debut in the Six Hours of Spa last May.
According to BMW Motorsport director Jens Marquardt, who revealed to Sportscar365 earlier this week that it is ‘reassessing’ its involvement in the series, a decision on its WEC future is likely to be made following this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.

With the intention of doing what instead? They wouldn't touch F1, touring cars is dying, just Formula E and they're already in that.

Well they’re also doing DTM plus IMSA. WEC just doesn’t seem to be going well.DoubleFart wrote: ↑5 years ago With the intention of doing what instead? They wouldn't touch F1, touring cars is dying, just Formula E and they're already in that.

They reached a podium in Japan, which is for a debut season for the M8 GTE pretty good. And last years season in the US delivered one victory. The reliability is its achilles heel.

Toyota confirms FIA World Endurance Championship return for next season…
February 6, 2019
Toyota Gazoo Racing will continue in the FIA World Endurance Championship LMP1 category next season.
The Japanese manufacturer confirmed plans to run a pair of Toyota TS050 Hybrids in the top category of the globe-trotting series as part of its annual motorsport address on Thursday.
It will announce a driver lineup for its eighth consecutive WEC season, and its fourth with the TS050 model, “at a later date”.
Few details have been established regarding Toyota’s crew composition for next year, although two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso recently told Sportscar365 that he is “50/50” on returning to the WEC for a second campaign.
Toyota currently leads the LMP1 driver, team and manufacturer standings after five rounds, having won all but one race of the 2018-19 ‘Super Season’ so far.
It has been gearing up for next month’s sixth round – the 1000-mile race at Sebring International Raceway – by undertaking its first laps at the Florida circuit this week.
Alonso and his co-drivers Kazuki Nakajima and Sebastien Buemi currently hold a five-point advantage over teammates Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway and Jose Maria Lopez in the FIA World Endurance Drivers’ Championship with three races to go.
No official word has been given on a commitment to the FIA and ACO’s ‘Hypercar’ regulations, although Toyota has played a large role in helping shape the new platform that’s set to debut in the 2020-21 season.

The Bathurst 6 Hour production car race is tommorow.
Qualifying was held today, the BMW M3 F80 of Beric Lynton/Tim Leahey was fastest:
https://www.speedcafe.com/2019/04/20/ly ... st-6-hour/
Here is a spotter guide for the event with all the cars:
http://bathurst6hour.com.au/sites/defau ... -Guide.pdf
Overall there aren't as many cars taking part or name drivers as in the last two years and the A1 class M3/M4s have got a pretty significant advantage over the rest of the field. Having said that, it should be a good battle behind them between the rest of the A1 cars and the faster A2/B class cars.
There's various support categories there too, all have big entry lists, particularly the Improved Production and Production Sports classes. The historic Group A/C touring cars are also there, as is the Hyundai Excel series and the Porsche regularity.
The race will be shown on Fox Sports 506 in Australia. There will also be a live stream here which will show the support races from around 7:30 local time as well as the main race for those outside Australia.

Bathurst 6 hour.
The Sherrin BMW that had qualified 3rd has subsequently been disqualified from qualifying due to a boost pressure anomaly, and will start today's race from rear of grid.
Improved Production Cars are about to start their race.... can be watched internationally (including Aus) on http://www.bathurst6hour.com.au/live
