It's a nice homage to Driven, if nothing else...

The start of P2 has been delayed, it has been confirmed.

While the session had been due to start at midnight local time, this has now been pushed back.

A new start time will be confirmed in due course.

Good work F1. :sarcasm:

I've read somewhere LV has 10 y. contract with the F1. (Cannot vouch for accuracy.)

I've seen between 3 and 10 years, with the lower number being the races FOM is signed up to run and the upper being optioned some time in the future. This is from the top of my head so details may be wrong.

OK its 1:47am in Vegas now and there has been another delay announced thought to be about 15 minutes but a start time yet to be confirmed.

The delays have at least allowed Alpine to complete a chassis change and they should be ready to run when it gets going, or soon after. My understanding is the Ferrari had more severe damage which included an ICE change as that was destroyed as well. They are hoping to get some running in P2.

FP2 has been extended to 90 minutes from 60 to giv back some of the lost time to the teams so it will be near enough 4am by the time the session is done.

Just breaking that Carlos Sainz will be getting a grid penalty but notsure what its for. If its for an engine change its just wrong as the new engine is to be replaced as a result of a track failure.

FP2 has been confirmed now to be starting at 2:30 am!(10:30UTC) so half an hour from now.

It seems the grid penalty for Sainz is due to him having suffered quite significant damage, requiring a new chassis, ICE, Control Electronics and Energy Store.
It has been confirmed that the usual penalties will be applied as these are not out of his pool, so he is facing a grid drop for Saturday's race. The FIA have deemed that although it was the tracks fault not Ferrari's or Sainz's that any standard penalties for replacement parts will stand.

What an utter crock. A disgrace from what has been said about it. If Enzo was alive the Ferrari cars would already be getting loaded into the truck to leave Vegas to suffer no Ferrari's racing.
I honestly cant believe it.

One should hope that they don't get penalised for that under the budget cap.

Ferrari should withdraw from this race on protest to decision taken on Sainz..
