I though certainly Max looked marginal. I thought he might have touched it but not crossed it

I’m awfully disappointed about how proceedings went today. Yes part of the race was a bit eventful but we could have let it run its normal course and we would have had a much better one.

Apparently the weather caused a power outage for the race control. That was the real reason for the delay and also why a standing start was never used for either restart.

Good. Well done Sergio and well done Red Bull for nailing the strategy.

Ferrari.... you have work to do on strategy. You threw this one away. Your drivers did well, you as a team did not give them the support they deserved.

He's one of the fastest racing drivers in the world, a multi millionaire and could bang virtually any woman (or man) he fancied in the world. Be good to have such a nightmare

Ferrari and their strategy continues to be lol.

I feel very sorry for Chucky Clerk. He's seeing the championship slowly slip away through no fault of his own.

Chin Jr: Hmm. Shoddy.

Speaking of: race direction both sucks and blows. Aside from the horrendous start (*shakes fist*), they call a VSC for Chin Jr's crash when the very first shot you see 3sec after the crash is a gearbox separated from the rest of the car. Instant SC, surely (and maybe a red after the fact, once they get a report on the state of the barriers). But no. WHO ARE THESE CLOWNS?

I must admit first images when it happened I wasnt aware KMag had just retired already and for a split second thought there were two Haas cars in there together.....

Image

..... then I saw it was just 2 separate pieces of one Haas....

As for Chin Jr shoddy, Steiner thinks so to and made it clear Schu needs to pull his socks up if he wants to be around next year, Schu was saying how he just got (10cms) wide and onto marbles. 10cms is a long way off line at Monaco, and the difference between hanging it off the barriers or not.

Steiner on the other hand was more critical...with Schumacher having also suffered an error related major crash in qualifying for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, forcing him to miss the race – Steiner issued a curt warning to Schu post race

“With Mick we obviously saw what happened,”(driver error) said Steiner. “It’s not very satisfactory having a big crash again. We need to see how we move forward from here.”

Schu and Latifi are the only two drivers to have not scored points this year.

Oh, with all the goings on with the weather, race control issues, crashes in qualifying and even some decent motor racing going on, we have rather distracted ourselves from the main concern over the weekend..... a weekend when we should have seen the Big Bling Ban enforced, and Lewis stripped of his welded in and 'personal' piercings. :sarcasm:

We didnt get to see the big Lewis v the FIA showdown, or even a bling free Lewis (and others it has to be said). The FIA announced a further delay in the enforcement of the bling rulings due to ongoing debate and negotiation. It seems a couple of other drivers have also objected... Gasly on religious grounds and I think KMag on personal choices grounds.

Negotiations are ongoing between Dr Petherbridge and his medical commission, the FIA safety commission and the Grand Prix Drivers Association, with a framework for exemptions based on personal or religious circumstances expected to be reached to avoid further public debate.

Enforcement of the 'bling ban' will be postponed until 30 June, the week of the British Grand Prix.

You can all sleep peacefully in the knowledge that the likes of Lewis can keep their welded in personal bits in place when they race at Baku. :nah: :suspicious: :  tongue:

[FiA vs Hamilton] I find rather incomprehensible what's going on with FiA. Point is, if contentious rules are in the place for years, why are we having these discussions so late? Perhaps rules should had been either enforced consistently all the time, or changed long time ago. This kind of lax approach creates nothing but lax compliance. Both, FiA and Hamilton are in wrong, however as long as FiA plays a referee, in theory Hamilton should back off, or face consequences. Application for changes to the rules should be formally submitted through proper channels, if people on the inside think it's worth the effort. I thought it is not that complicated, unless one thinks he is above the law.
