This might make you feel old, Ty Gibbs is the first driver born in the 2000s to win a championship in NASCAR's top 3 series.

So it seems he is not old enough to have a drink to celebrate ....I think the legal age in Phoenix AZ ia 21, and he is 20.acerogers58 wrote: ↑1 year ago This might make you feel old, Ty Gibbs is the first driver born in the 2000s to win a championship in NASCAR's top 3 series.

23XI continues to scramble for drivers to fill in for Ty Gibbs. Allmendinger, Gragson, Hemric, and now Brandon Jones have been in and out of the hauler.

From the news this morning that there was something wrong regarding the Gibbs family, to when it was made known that Coy had passed away, to the race being very nothing and processional, it certainly felt very empty for a championship race.

Im not being smart but how do they can they call, or classify a North America only competition as a World Championship? I dont deny it is the major championship for NASCAR worldwide and by a margin, also that it has a few international drivers over the year but it just seems weird to classify it as a World Championship.
It would be like our own Australian V8 Supercars championship winner as being classified a World Supercars Champion. (We do have a round in NZ and enjoy a number of overseas drivers in both Sprint and more so in the enduro (co-driver) rounds of the championship.)
As I say im not picking a fight or going to lose sleep over it, its more a curiosity thing I guess. I noticed Ty Gibbs was also referred as World Champion in the Infinity series. Maybe its just a tongue in cheek reference by @Microsprinter18 which is also fine. As I say more a curiosity thing.

It's honestly just out of habit, lol. Growing up in a family that watched a lot of UFC and MMA, they always introduced the reigning champions as the "champion of the world" and it just stuck even into my motorsport adventures.Everso Biggyballies wrote: ↑1 year ago Maybe its just a tongue in cheek reference by @Microsprinter18 which is also fine.
