Bottom post of the previous page:

They say a picture can tell a thousand words. I'm just glad I was young in the seventies, and not today.

But it's kind of the ethos of the different era's. the 1970s were about partying and freedom from convention.
Today it's about branding and building an empire beyond your current situation (all sportsmen and entertainers now have side businesses they invest in and run). Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) has his own gin company FFS.

It's just unfortunate that Lewis's brand is so goofy. Not sure who this appeals to? But looks like a set of Pajamas with a matching hat. It's like he's trying to be Kanye West, but just a bit less crazy...
Marks and Spencer Kanye :haha:

Aston Martin (aka Racing Point) to run British Racing Green based livery for 2021.

Aston Martin is set to adopt the classic British racing green colours for its Formula 1 car livery in 2021 upon the brand's works return to the grid.

BUT..... it will also feature plenty of pink to represent the team's ongoing BWT backing.... apparently initial design concepts that were recently reviewed are understood to have been rejected as they did not feature enough pink.

Not convinced I like the mix of pink and BRG.

Quote from an interview with Helmut Marko:

"His father has a huge part in why Max is so outstanding," Marko continued. "People always say I'm tough, but what Max had to go through wasn't easy. But the success proves him right."

Now...I thought about starting a thread with the title "Helmut Marko admits he is not as big of an asshole as wife-beating Jos Verstappen." .. but figured that would be a little too pejorative.

Didn't know he's a wife beater; had heard of his trackside kart beatings though.

Yes, he has certainly had more than a couple of 'anger management issues'. One of his exes he ran into with a car (on purpose). The list is long.
An utter prick. Very hateable. And not that good a driver either.

The biggest bashing was the despicable way Jos has historically treated his partners. If that is not a justifiable reason to dislike such a person for that reason alone..... My thoughts of him as a person do not influence my thoughts on him as a driver. My personal thoughts of him as a human being are after his driving days were done when his anger management issues became apparent.
As for his driving he always struck me as being an erratic driver and far from a standout talent. He never really fulfilled the talent he showed in junior series (or to an extent in Sportscars post F1). Admittedly after Benetton he never had a car in F1 that was that good or reliable.
Just my opinion.

He was very good when it rained. Took a surprise 4th with the Arrows at Monza. Drove outstanding at Malaysia 2001, Canada 2000.
And in 2008 he won the LMP2 class at Le Mans.

Is that a quote of Jos when he went full Floyd Mayweather on his wife?

yep.

It started with a quote of Helmut and ends with some bashing.

I don't have enough Mongol enthusiasm to start a Portuguese GP thread, so I'll just post this here

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/15283 ... ack-limits

F1 is using the faster T1. Me likey. The straight is long enough to allow overtaking despite this, I reckon.
