Just to say something about the pinnacle of motor sport argument, Ted Kravitz pointed out that in P1 at Brazil we had the 2017 F1, F2, GP3 and WEC champions all in the same F1 session ...thats Hamilton Leclerc Russell and Hartley .

I was just going to point that one out having just seen it on autosport.
Quite a cool stat really, and I'm hoping Hartley gets a full time drive next season.

You could add to the stat by including also the LM 24 winner (again, Hartley) and FWIW an Indy 500 Leader (Alonso)
Throw in Gasly as the current (ie 2016) GP2 Champion.
Mercedes has confirmed that Lewis Hamilton will start the Brazilian Grand Prix from the pit lane, having opted to take his car out of parc ferme conditions, following his Q1 crash.
He was doomed to start last irrespective of others penalties as he failed to set a time, so taking his car out of parc ferme and starting from pitlane allows Mercedes to in effect fit a penalty free new engine / power unit. It also allows them to use parts of a different spec.
Looks like Lewis will have a potential rocket ship to fight back through the field. Plus of course he will have a relatively new power unit for the season finale at Abu Dhabi.

Mercedes team members suffer armed robbery leaving Interlagos Friday night.
We have seen these sort of events at the Brazilian GP before, but this time security has been raised and personnel advised to leave the paddock incognito, with no passes or team gear on.
Happens every year, and suggests that Police corruption plays a role - it surely isn't that difficult to have security presence from the paddock to the local hotels?
