I had to google that one and found it very difficult even with the significance of that very photograph. Me being of course someone who doesn't know much about the history of the US ovals. Good one. Didn't know the track was built that early. :thumbsup:

It was actually built before WW2...

... and one of the very few paved tracks (if not the only one) in New England at the time.

No, I think it's Stavelot, with the bypass under construction. Malmédy looks very different.

Yes, this is the entry of Stavelot corner. In the background you can see the old track coming back from the village of Stavelot.

Note two famous cars in that picture, the first two tube-frame Sprint cars ever built. Still "in the white" is the famous #98 junior in its very first race. The other is the Hal Cole Kurtis Sprinter in its second race; half a year later it even ran at Indianapolis, the last time Sprint cars were still allowed to run there.
