Trackhouse have already confirmed they plan to use the provisional if he does not qualify. As part of the rules for the provisional, he is ineligible to win any prize money and Trackhouse do not receive any owners points.

Is this just for the 500 or all Cup races from now on? I'd love to see the likes of Ricciardo, Hamilton, Verstappen, etc., take advantage of it too down the road.

It's for every race but it's safe to assume these "world class" guest drivers will target road/street courses by design.

* Martin Truex Jr. has confirmed his entry in the Daytona 500, driving the #56 for truck series standout TRICON Garage (with JGR support).
* Jimmie Johnson will attempt the Daytona 500 and Coca-Cola 600.

Red Bull will return to NASCAR for the first time since 2011, they will be the primary sponsor on Shane Van Gisbergen's car for 5 races, as well as being the prime sponsor for Connor Zilisch's Cup series debut at COTA in the #87
