Bottom post of the previous page:

Horner confirms Tsunoda and Lawson 'would be the candidates' to replace Perez for 2025
Very comedic statement. We were promised this week decision and announcement about Perez's future with the RB, and all what we are getting instead are names for consideration as his potential replacement? How tiring, and boring.
Horner also addressed the next steps in the process with Perez, as Red Bull work out how they can get back in the constructors’ fight in 2025.

It seems a simple thing with Perez. As simple as the performance clauses in his contract either dont exist or have been shot through by Sergio's lawyer. The situation I have read is that Red Bull might be obliged to pay Sergio out of his contract in full and also give him his cut of the sponsorship monies he brings in from Carlos Slim. The figure I have seen to make Sergio disappear without a whimper is something in between 50 million US and 70 million. This seems to be the paddock whisper..

Sergio it seems knows he is in a position of strength and is being firm as to what he wants. This is apparently why it was a matter for the board to decide. Neither Marko or Horner it seems have the jurisdiction or the balls to make the payment for Sergio to vanish, especially as they are not convinced the right perdon is there to take Sergio's seat. Can you imagine the scenario if they pay all these millions to make Sergio invisible and neither Liam, Yuki, Hadjar or Colapinto dont do better.. Sergio is a huge earner for Red Bull in merchandise as well.... far in excess of Max apparently. . Whether the bord have made a motopn and negotiations are going on behind the scenes. with Sergio who knows.

Someone who knows the truth will be outed soon surely. To be honest I dont care what happens. What will be will be. Honda have admitted to having words with RB in regards to Yuki getting any gig... they got the job done as part one of their mission and that was to get Yuki in the Red Bull for the test. He was slower thaan Lawson in the VCARB so I suspect Lawson was running a different programme and Yuki wasnt given any tyres. Yuki is certainlt quicker over one lap than Liam. I have told myself I am not going to immerse myself in F1 stuff over Christmas. Im enjoying the break right now...

RB tried to convince Sergio that best would be for him to pull out on his own volittion, but he is not biting. He knows once he is out, then he is out for good in his age.

He also knows if HE resigns he wont get anything the same payout as if they have to effectively fire him and pay him the two full years remaining on his contract.

So, the FIA has just today released the2025 F1 Official entry list of drivers.

It seems to show a Mexican officially driving a Red Bull. :omg:
It does also have just one TBC..... that of the VCARB car partnering Yuki Tsunoda. Lawson still to be confirmed.

Of course it is from the FIA so dont expect it to be accurate. Or the truth. Someone might get fired over it.

Just for the hell of it, here is the official list. FWIW.

Oh and itis dated Friday 13th (December). Unlucky for some. :suspicious: :whistling:

If you cant read it clearly here is the link to the original: https://www.fia.com/events/fia-formula- ... ship-entry

Pietro Fittipaldi drove in two F1 races for Haas in 2020 and he is still with the team as the reserve driver. Not sure, what 2025 will bring for him in terms of racing in a series but it was interesting to listen to him in this Podcast about his racing career so far and his future plans.

Briatore declared it's time for generational change, which is his justification of choices he made. Young drivers are In, says Flavio. I am not arguing with his conviction, but I have little difficulty to understand why Hamilton and Alonso are still employed if there is generational change. I don't actually care one way or another, to tell the truth, but if young blood is in, than those two relics should be waving good bye. Maybe Hulk as well.

Flavio Briatore explains why F1’s top teams overlooked Carlos Sainz
https://www.motorsportweek.com/2024/12/ ... los-sainz/

Flavio's reasoning would have much more credibility without him having certain financial interest in a young driver who will be on his team next year.

It is no different for Flavio than it is for other Team Principals who manage drivers such as Toto .... he manages Ocon and is also part of George Russell's Management Team along with Harry Soden.. Wolff was also Bottas manager until recently. He also manages non F1 drivers such as Alexandre Prémat and through a separate management company he own with Mika Hakkinen

Graham Lowdon (ex Marussia TP and now Cadillac TP manages runs a Management company that jointly manages Lewis Hamilton with Mark Hynes and fully manages Zhou, although Hynes is also involved with Zhou..

Flavio has always managed many of his drivers ...Alonso, Webber, Trulli, Piquet Jnr, Kovalainen to name a few.

Famously Jean Todts son Nicholas also managed many drivers including Massa when he was at Ferrari, then run by Jean Todt. Nicholas continued to manage drivers when his father became the head of FIA.

Back in the day Horner was personal manager of many of the Red Bull Junior drivers.

Helmut Marko also has a history of driver management.... Drivers I know he managed include Vitatonio Liuzzi.

I guess what I am saying is that it is nothing unusual for a TP to also have a portfolio of drivers thay do or have personally managed.

Ecclestone himself was manager to many drivers including drivers in the 1950's when he briefly owned Connaught F1. Stuart Lewis-Evans (who drove for Connaught as well as Vanwall, and Jochen Rindt particularly, In fact Bernie stepped away from F1 briefly to build his business, when Lewis Evans was killed. Until he met and became manager for Rindt back before Jochen was in F1.

Its hard the argue against a case of conflict of interest in any of them... but thats life in F1. Its an accepted practice and has been for many years, indeed decades.

(I think perhaps there might be personal prejudices involved in your comment given Flavio, when Sainz became unavailable, after the comparison test, saw more potential in Doohan and supporting the already dented (after Piastri) Alpine Academy / junior programme than he did Schumacher and

@Everso Biggyballies Impresive (above) account. As much as I am immersed in the F1, my related interests aren't all encompassing. Past depravities, statistics, and middle school for F1 drivers are just a few of them. Your summary will be handy to remember next when someone will be selling his financial interests as a sporting and merit based decision.

This is just one of many posts on twitter that say Sergio Perez won't be driving for Red Bull in 2025 and Liam Lawson will in his place. It hasn't been confirmed but it was reported on French tv and Sky Germany apparently. Who knows? Until it's official it's not happening, but it seems likely that it's cheerio Checo time.

AMuS is also listing Perez among group of drivers who are leaving the F1. Strange, especially when RB hasn't really confirmed line up one way or another. I am holding my fingers for Yuki.

Seriously I guess they will go for Hadjar even through he is undercooked and at least a year off being ready.
