In the beginning of the interview, Marshall says
Then we get to know that the car's tub had to be 'redone' in England, and now it has carbon fibre elements to make it safer.Pretty wild tale of what it's been through to get here.
This beautiful Tyrrell has been through... It's been through some things to get to its current state of true, gorgeous preparation.
Before we get to the car's history and provenance and such, our good man Steve Romak had an experience a couple of years ago, where, let's just say, part of the front of the car where his feet were supposed to be kind of got exposed. We don't like to talk about it, and/or show pictures. The photos, they were a little bit worrying.
So, there happened to be an accident? event? crash? in which the car's monocoque was damaged. Maybe even to the degree of Federico Kroymans famous Ferrari crash.
Mr. Romak was taking part in the Masters Historic Formula One USA. During the 2019 season, he used the Tyrrell, and a March 761.
It seems he did not race next year, but in 2021 he returned to the series, in his march only.
MONTEREY PRE-REUNION happened on 10 – 11 August 2019.
He was entered in the Tyrrell (as seen in https://issuu.com/rossmadrid_la/docs/ro ... 19_issuu-o),
ROLEX MONTEREY MOTORSPORTS REUNION Happened 15 – 18 August 2019, and Mr. Romak obviously raced his new march: "Steve Romak in his new 1976 March 761 did very well, ending up in 4th. " https://www.facebook.com/MastersHistori ... 333262457/
In subsequent meetings, he used his march. So, something could happen between the PRE-REUNION and REUNION which forced a car change. Maybe this event made the Tyrrel rebuild necessary?
Does anyone has more info about this?
