Ferrari ran an all-black livery in pre-season testing in 1998.
Livery aside, that's what an F1 car should look like.
I agree.

He literally looked at all the world corporations that had green in their corporate colours and approached them. Thats how he got Fuji.
Don't forget, that Jordan 191 was originaly black:

Ok, so here is the bid deal - non-red Ferraris :)

First one is quite well known - durring 1964 season Enzo had a dispute with Italian motoring federation ACI and in result he declared, that Scuderia Ferrari won't take part in final races of the season. Off course Ferrari cars were present on both races, entered by North American Racing Team (NART) and painted in white and blue - USA national colours in racing. NART was in all but the name (and colours) factory team, so this can count as a non-red Ferrari livery.
Image

This one is bit older - 1961 Belgian Grand Prix. Beside three red cars, Scuderia had entered one car painted in yellow (Belgian national colours) for Olivier Gendebien.

The 1996 Jordan started out in a 1995-esque livery until they landed Benson & Hedges sponsorship.

It was not actually painted black.... it was just naked carbon fibre and bare because Eddie had blown his savings, and was over his overdraft and with no sponsors in sight penniless.... but he had a Cosworth deal and also a Goodyear one proving he had a sound basis.

At the launch, renowned journalist Jabby Crombac was not impressed. He wrote, “Why do they even bother? They can’t even afford to paint the car.”

Eddie initially thought he had Camel sponsorship..... they backed him in F3000 the year before. But it was only a verbal agreement and Briatore / Benetton poached Camel from him saying that as the official works Ford team they had a lot more to offer than Eddie.

Eventually he got 7Up on board, the largest selling soft drink in Ireland. With the car predominantly green Eddie had the foresight to approach Irish Tourism with the bullshit of Irish Tourism on the first Irish F1 team and how he would advertise and expose Ireland to the world. They fell for his blarney and put up a million quid, as had 7up. Legend goes that Eddie looked at world brands with green and saw Fuji Films. They signed up for 1.5 mill and then Eddie got Andrea de Cesaris signed up with a big bag of Marlboro dollars and suddenly he had enough to go racing.

Thats basically how it very quickly went from unpainted (black) carbon fibre to become the green and blue beauty that the Jordan 191 became known for.

A pic of the car at the original launch.

The first time Jordan ran with Sobranie logos, said logos were blue, they were always black when Jordan actually raced with them.

From more recent times, the Gulf McLaren, Monaco 2021.
yes, this one was outstanding
much better than Ferrari's one-off from Mugello in 2020 (as a Ferrari fan I find it hard to admit  )
Put the Ferrari Mugello 2020 livery in the following thread then. -

In 2005 for their last three races in Brazil Japan and China (before the team became Midland for 2006) the cars ran a full Sobranie Sponsorship (sidepods as well)

Gendebien also drove a yellow Ferrari at his home GP in 1958.

Forgot to mention this which is typically Eddie and quite amusing. Eddie flew to Japan to meet with Fuji to show them a model of the Jordan with Fuji logos on the rear wing. The amusing part is the car was not quite accurate and had a slightly oversize rear wing to amplify and emphasise the Fuji branding !

Just so you know, this thread doesn't just have to be F1 liveries, other Motorsport liveries can be included too if you can think of any.

I wouldn't say it was bad. Just the McLaren Gulf livery was in the other league
