On Saturday, Fittipaldi took to social media to inform his followers that he’d arrived back home in North Carolina in America, where he’d continue his recovery and subsequent rehabilitation from his injuries.
Enzo had previously posted a video showing him flexing his left ankle in his hospital bed, while his right foot remains in a protective boot to aid healing.

Oscar Piastri’s stunning 2021 has just gone up yet another notch.
He was recognised at the FIA prize giving Gala earlier this week, winning the coveted overall "FIA Rookie of the Year "Award.
“The prize is voted by members of the FIA Drivers Commission, led by the Commission President, nine-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen,” explained an FIA statement.
That was one of two significant things to polish collected by Piastri in Paris, also collecting the 2021 FIA Formula 2 Championship Trophy.

Amazed at how low key he was about it all. My Woohoo when he won droned anything he uttered out!
Tough to think that wins FRenault, next year wins F3 and then the next (this) year wins the F2 title, and yet has nothing to race next year. Apart from fart around in a simulator, and maybe a Friday. Although I guess as official reserve if Ocon or Nando get Covid and have to miss a race he would step up, but that isnt really the way he would want to get his first GP.
Still, Alonso's contract is only for next year, so maybe he will retire. Ocon is I think signed long term through to end 2024, so unless Alpine put Piastri elsewhere.....
Interesting to read these posts 3 years later and see how the boy has turned out.

Indeed and I am pretty sure that my mention of Alpine putting Oscar elsewhere and what actually happened, with McLaren snatching Oscar by swooping on an Alpine contractual stuff up and procrastination was how he would be making his F1 debut. Yes Oscar had his debut in a team other than Alpine but hardly as Alpine might have planned or wished it!

All the better for us, Oscar and the sport, because as far as I remember Alpine has not been a race winner since 2021(?) and McLaren are now fighting for championships

Yeah Alpine had run most of this last season struggling to score a point..... After Mexico (round 20) they were 9th in the WCC with just 14 points ytd... ahead of only the at that time pointless Sauber. A best finish this year in GPs until then of 9th.
At Brazil due to the weather and a fair bit of luck from SCs etc they had a bit of a miracle double podium and vaulted ahead of Williams, Haas and VCARB to suddenly be 6th.... it helped them finish the season with 65 points.
So yeah, basically crap bar a freak weekend. But when you look at how good the McLaren turnaround has been since Oscar joined and Team Papaya have out developed everyone.
Hopefully they dont disappear up their own bum this coming season as they have done before. Stella seems to have it all organised pretty well and has been impressive.c. By far the most impressive TP on the grid. Would love them to whoop Mercedes again and also Ferrari.
