Yes.

I suddenly remember Pierre Gasly!!!
My mention was for the first French driver in a French car with a French engine since Prost in a Renault. (Austria 1983).

(Panis was in a French Ligier but with a Honda / Mugen engine.). Gasly is just French :haha:

Looked like he almost had to be helped onto the podium.

I genuinely hope that the solitary point Max fought so hard for will be useful come the championship end.

Nice work from the Red Bull family to steal away the point for fastest lap.

What a load of bollocks..... Ocon has to front the stewards for an incorrect post race procedure. He missed the slot for race winners to go to in parc ferme.

plus other drivers wearing the wrong t-shirt on the podium or something similar..

I swear if the stewards make any fuss over either I will walk away from F1. The governance is pathetic.

It has to be some sort of facial recognition software. The computer is identifying the target car and applying the correct name graphic.
(Not that I know for sure, but it looks so very similar.)

In other topics, I thought this was a great race. Bottas got a deserved penalty for his mistake, but otherwise it kept me engaged the entire time. The Alonso v Lewis battle was fantastic. There's still some sly in the old fox. He knows how to keep a car behind.

I think Lewis was dehydrated or something. He kept drinking even while on the podium. You could hear boos and cheers at the same time whenever he was being interviewed at the end. Not very unexpected at this point...

I would imagine they'd use the onboard transponders to identify the cars.

But can they use that to overlay the image?

I think it's a Sky Sports broadcast thing maybe? Is everyone seeing it for other broadcasts?

I've gotta say, huge respect to Seb for the shirt. Great to see him actually take a risk to make a political statement, unlike others who are all talk.

Saudi Arabia should be interesting if this happens again..

So I also noticed everyone blaming Bottas for the T1 incident. But what about Stroll diving into LeClerc and helping take out a few more? He also gets a 5 placer.

The entire incident reminds me of the T1 crashes that used to happen almost every other race from about 1997 to 2003 or so.

It actually reminded me of the accident that Nico caused at Spa a few years back, when he locked up and pushed Alonso into (I think) Le Clerc.

I think it's mostly because he happened to be unlucky (or lucky) enough to basically take out both Red Bulls in one move. Had it only been Norris, he would've still got the blame, but the whole thing would've quietened down pretty quickly.

There were many cheers during the race it seems.
Of course they’re booing him, it’s the genuine reaction to anytime Hamilton does anything, nobody likes him apart from the delusion crowd at Silverstone, the cheering during the race was fake cheering being piped in by F1, every time the crowd cheered, it was exactly the same cheer, didn’t you notice that? It’s called a canned reaction.

They gave themselves away when they showed a replay of one of Lewis overtakes from his pit crews point of view and left the original audio in it and you could hear the background sound that was nothing, not the ground shaking cheering that was piped into the main feed.

Broadcasters have been doing this for over a year now, here they play clapping tracks over the booing on the PA and on TV when the crowd boo the kneeling virtual signallers at footy matches, my dad lives near a stadium and you can hear th3 booing, but funny enough when you go into the lounge and watch the match on the tv, the booing has magically changed into clapping and cheering….
I am very sorry if you find my posts long and boring, I like to type and often go off on a tangent.
