We should probably edit the thread title to reflect the dropping of the Andretti name from the team now known as Cadillac F1.
As I understand it now the Andretti family no longer own the Andretti Global business...... Dan.Towriss is the CEO of TWG Motorsports, now the majority owner of Andretti Global - but it is TWG Motorsports that now oversees the Cadillac F1 program. Towriss recalls that Michael Andretti realised at some point that he needed to step back.
That even extends to ventures such as the Aus V8 Supercars WAU team (Walkinshaw Andretti United) with Towriss last weekend confirming the WAU name would remain despite Andretti no longer having an ownership stake in the team

I gather Mario is still on the board of directors of some part of the organization.
I believe Mario is a director on the board of the newly Cadillac F1 team, serving in a non-executive, advisory role, but not involved in day-to-day operations. He is not a director of TWG.
Mario himsel clarified that his role is not a "job" but rather a non-executive position, focusing on offering advice, inspiration, and friendship, rather than being involved in daily operations.
His involvement is seen as a nod to the (Andretti) family's legacy and contributions to racing, particularly in bringing another American team to the F1 grid.

That's funny, talking about Michael. When he raced, rivalry between him and "little Al" was legendary from one race to another. I'v rooted for Al. Then Michael came to the F1. We all know what happened soon after. One wonders if he was living little bit of his father's fame. He had skills, but I am not sure if he hone them further in his career as a racer. Fact is, he never raised to the level his father achieved.
Impression I got was that Lesser Andretti was a bit like Paul Tracy. Incredibly talented. But off-track action let him down.
The original Andretti gene pool was diluted further with Marco. He's had one kid so far - a girl. Odds of the Andretti racing dynasty continuing in a meaningful way behind the wheel are slim.

Michael and Aldo are the only Andrettis I ever liked.
Aldo I understand, but Michael? An odd mix.
Personally I didnt like Michaels reluctance to commit to F1, and his insistence of being what I saw as a weekend racer. Not prepared to relocate to Europe to take part in testing etc. preferring to commute to Europe in the days of a more Euro-centric Championship.

Yes, his F1 commitment was lacking, but he was one hell of a racer. I just liked his driving, his style was maximum attack all the time, but always clean.
F1 was just one year out of twenty, don't judge him solely on that.
Aldo, on the other hand, wasn't much of a racer, but a very warm and positive individual. I like them for different reasons, obviously.
Oh, and yes, I liked his son, too. John was very much like his father in personality, but a better racer. And versatile like Mario.

Damn, as long as Michael has nothing to do with it, WE WILL ALL BE OK! Keep repeating that.
Yea, I actually don't know what their issue was with Michael. He has a good and successful career as a driver and an owner of multiple teams. They allow Flavio Briatore in but are bothered by Michael Andretti.
Briatore is operating in a narrow segment of the F1. As I understand it, he will not get involved in direction series will be taking. The new American team however will have opportunity to affect financials, technical and sporting regulations. Difference is not just limited to perception of personal characters of those two.
Based on Michael's attitude towards F1 was exhibited during his active racing, when he treated series as a weekend hobby (facile à vivre). I have nothing against him, but the way how he tried to ram his team in through the gate regardless of anyone or anything else probably didn't help.
What you mean regardless of anyone? There are six empty spots on the grid, he wouldn't have taken up anyone's space. The Andretti saga comes down to pure greed on behalf of the other teams. Caddy got probably got in because they have more marketing budget to spend.

You call teams greedy after all that investments over decades, and loses due to restrictive regulations? Now, when they are getting slowly out of bad situation due to better commercial management all over sudden Andretti comes with - ME TOO I WANT! Where was he when teams were loosing money? You have really weird sense of fairness whom you are calling greedy.
